New Delhi, Feb 22 – BJP MLA Ashish Sood officially assumed the role of Delhi’s Home Minister on Saturday, marking the beginning of his tenure with a crucial meeting involving department officials.
As a first-time MLA representing Janakpuri, Sood stands out as a significant Punjabi figure within the Cabinet of Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.
Upon taking office, Sood shared his excitement on X, stating, “I have assumed office as the Home Minister of Delhi and conducted my first important meeting with the officials of this department.” The discussions during this initial meeting were centered around enhancing law and order in the national capital and boosting administrative efficiency.
“I will ensure that the Home Department operates with complete transparency and dedication,” he emphasized, highlighting his commitment to effective governance.
In addition to his responsibilities as Home Minister, Sood has been entrusted with several other key portfolios, including power, urban development, education, higher education, training, and technical education.
Addressing his priorities, Sood remarked, “We will give special attention to law and order, disaster management, traffic systems, and other related matters. Our goal is to make Delhi a city where every citizen can live with dignity and pride.” He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to fulfilling the promises made to the public.
Sood also referenced a recent meeting led by Delhi Chief Minister Gupta with officials from the Delhi Jal Board, where they explored strategies to ensure a consistent supply of clean water to the residents of Delhi, as reported to PTI Videos.
