UP governor plans to unite all universities for experience sharing and quality enhancement.

Lucknow, Jul 3 – In a significant move to enhance the quality of education across Uttar Pradesh, Governor Anandiben Patel announced that all state universities will be unified through Raj Bhavan to facilitate experience sharing and overall improvement. This announcement was made during a meeting with a delegation from Prof Rajendra Singh (Rajju Bhaiya) University, Prayagraj, which recently achieved an ‘A’ grade in its inaugural National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) evaluation.

During the meeting, the delegation expressed their gratitude to the governor for her support, and discussions ensued regarding the accreditation process. University representatives shared insights into their experiences, the challenges they faced, and the benefits gained from the accreditation process. They highlighted how this initiative not only enhanced the institution but also broadened their understanding of academic quality assessment.

Governor Patel, who serves as the Chancellor of Universities, has been proactive in encouraging state universities to strive for higher rankings in various evaluations, including NAAC, National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), and QS Asia and World Rankings. She conducts regular review meetings at Raj Bhavan, interacts with university teams, and visits campuses to provide guidance for improvements. This concerted effort has led to several state universities achieving better grades in recent assessments.

Congratulating Prof Rajendra Singh University on its ‘A’ grade achievement, Patel emphasized the importance of continued dedication to elevate the university’s status further. She urged the team to focus on enhancing research and publication efforts and to refine their performance evaluation system through timely reviews and updates.

Patel stressed the significance of teamwork, stating, “We should not stop; we should keep moving forward. Work done as a team easily reaches the goal.” She instructed the university to commence preparations for the NIRF rankings and to initiate efforts for QS Asia and World Rankings. Additionally, she highlighted that a scientific approach to data organization would simplify the evaluation process.

The governor underscored the importance of perception in rankings like NIRF, noting that mutual understanding among universities fosters trust and collaboration. She encouraged universities to expand their outreach by signing more Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and directed the university to keep students informed about the activities and innovations occurring at Raj Bhavan, which would help cultivate leadership and service-oriented values among them.

Patel also advocated for student participation in co-curricular and creative activities, emphasizing that such involvement enhances knowledge and practical skills. She called for a balanced focus on academics, values, discipline, and practical knowledge to prepare students for responsible citizenship.

In her remarks, Governor Patel referenced a recent education meeting in Goa attended by numerous national and international university representatives, where several MoUs were signed. She expressed optimism that these agreements would benefit Uttar Pradesh universities and enhance their global presence.

Highlighting the exemplary work of Raksha University in Ahmedabad, she praised its students for their contributions to national defense initiatives, stating that their discipline and dedication should inspire other institutions.

Concluding her address, Patel reiterated the collective responsibility to contribute to India’s development, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of unity and commitment to the nation. She stated, “When children and youth are at the center of his work, it becomes our responsibility to also work with the same commitment and speed to contribute to India’s development.”
