Samba, Jammu, Jul 7 – In a tragic incident, a Border Security Force (BSF) jawan reportedly took his own life by shooting himself with his service rifle at a forward post in Samba district, Jammu and Kashmir, on Monday.

The deceased, identified as Constable Mridul Dass, was performing sentry duty at the Border Out-Post Malluchak in the Ramgarh sector when the incident occurred. Officials have stated that the motive behind this extreme action remains unclear at this time.

Following the incident, local police have transported Constable Dass’s body to the Community Health Centre in Ramgarh for a postmortem examination. Authorities have also initiated inquest proceedings to investigate the circumstances surrounding this unfortunate event.
