Patna, Oct 23 – The opposition INDIA bloc has officially named RJD leader and former deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav as its chief ministerial candidate for the upcoming Bihar assembly elections.
During a press conference attended by all coalition partners, senior Congress leader Ashok Gehlot announced the decision, confirming that it received the endorsement of Rahul Gandhi, the party’s de facto leader, and national president Mallikarjun Kharge.
Gehlot further revealed that Mukesh Sahni, the chief of the Vikassheel Insan Party (VIP) and a representative of the extremely backward class, is set to be one of the deputy chief ministers if the INDIA bloc secures victory in the elections. Additionally, another leader from a different social section will also be appointed to the same deputy chief ministerial position.
