Ken Follett’s ‘Circle of Days’ delves into the human narrative behind Stonehenge.

New Delhi, Oct 23 – Internationally acclaimed author Ken Follett, recognized for his bestselling works such as “The Pillars of the Earth,” “Fall of Giants,” and “World Without End,” has released his latest novel, “Circle of Days.” This grand historical fiction is set during the era of Stonehenge’s construction.

Published by Hachette, “Circle of Days” explores the lives, struggles, and aspirations of the individuals who envisioned and constructed one of the world’s most significant ancient monuments. Follett, known for his meticulous research and immersive storytelling, narrates the journey of Seft, a skilled flint miner in search of a new life and love, escaping his challenging upbringing.

Seft’s path intertwines with that of Joia, a determined priestess and sister to the girl Seft loves. Joia harbors dreams of creating a monumental stone circle that could unite the fragmented tribes of the Great Plain. However, as drought devastates the land, tensions rise among herders, farmers, and woodlanders, culminating in an act of brutal violence that sparks open warfare.

Follett, a former journalist, gained prominence with his 1978 thriller “Eye of the Needle,” which earned the Edgar Award for Best Novel. He has since established a reputation for crafting historical sagas that highlight the resilience and ingenuity of humanity throughout history.

To date, Follett has sold over 198 million copies of his 38 books across more than 80 countries and in 40 languages. “Circle of Days,” priced at Rs 799, is available for purchase in both online and offline retail outlets.
