Mumbai, Oct 24 – Bollywood singer and music composer Sachin Sanghvi has been arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman by promising her a chance in a music album and marriage, according to police reports on Friday.

Sanghvi, recognized for his popular tracks in ‘Stree 2’ and ‘Bhediya’, was taken into custody on Thursday under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, as confirmed by an official.

The complainant, a woman in her 20s, reported that she first came into contact with Sanghvi in February 2024 when he reached out to her via Instagram.

The singer-composer purportedly offered her an opportunity to feature in his music album, leading to an exchange of phone numbers.

The woman alleges that Sanghvi invited her to his studio, where he proposed marriage and subsequently sexually assaulted her on multiple occasions, according to the official statement.

After conducting a thorough investigation, authorities proceeded with the arrest of the singer.
