New Delhi, Oct 24 – Delhi’s air quality exhibited a slight improvement on Friday morning, transitioning from the very poor to the poor category. The city recorded an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 290, which categorizes it as poor. However, Anand Vihar reported an AQI of 403, placing it in the severe category and marking it as the highest reading among all monitoring stations, as per the Sameer app by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
Fifteen monitoring stations recorded AQI levels in the very poor category (above 300), while the remaining stations fell into the poor category (below 300). According to the CPCB, the AQI classifications are as follows: 0-50 is considered “good,” 51-100 is “satisfactory,” 101-200 is “moderate,” 201-300 is “poor,” 301-400 is “very poor,” and 401-500 is “severe.”
The minimum temperature in Delhi settled at 17 degrees Celsius, which is 0.2 degrees below normal, as reported by the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The maximum temperature is expected to reach around 32 degrees Celsius, with the weather department predicting mist during the morning hours and a mainly clear sky later in the day.
