New Delhi, Oct 24 – The Customs Department reported the seizure of narcotics valued at over Rs 7 crore from two Indian male passengers at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport. The passengers were intercepted upon their arrival from Bangkok, Thailand, on Monday.
Customs officials conducted an X-ray scan of the passengers’ luggage, leading to the discovery of the contraband. A grey-blue trolley bag belonging to the passengers was examined, revealing four polythene pouches containing a green narcotic substance, suspected to be ganja (marijuana), with a net weight of 7,213 grams.
Diagnostic tests confirmed that the substance appeared to be ganja/marijuana, with an estimated value of approximately Rs 7.21 crore. Both passengers were subsequently arrested by the authorities.
