Guwahati, Oct 24 – In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, the Government Railway Police (GRP) arrested four individuals and seized over 2 kg of heroin in Assam’s Sribhumi district. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma confirmed the arrests and the drug recovery, which occurred during a targeted operation at Badarpur railway station.
The operation was initiated based on credible intelligence, leading to a decisive raid at Platform No. 1 of Badarpur Railway Junction. The GRP successfully apprehended the suspects and confiscated 2.15 kg of heroin.
In a post on X, Chief Minister Sarma emphasized the state’s zero-tolerance policy towards drugs, stating, “No Room for Drugs in Assam!”
