Girl drowns in waterlogged area in Rohini, Delhi, highlighting urgent safety concerns.

New Delhi, Oct 24 – A tragic incident occurred in Delhi’s Rohini, where a six-year-old girl drowned after falling into a waterlogged area near her home. The incident took place in the Rama Vihar locality on Thursday evening.

According to police reports, a PCR call was received around 6 PM on Thursday, indicating that a minor girl had gone missing from the area. A police team was promptly deployed to conduct an extensive search in and around Rama Vihar.

During the search operation, the team discovered the girl floating in a waterlogged section close to her residence. She was immediately transported to Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital, where doctors pronounced her dead upon arrival.

Authorities stated that the area had been significantly waterlogged, and it is believed that the girl accidentally slipped into the accumulated water while playing outside her home. The body has been preserved at the hospital for a postmortem examination.

Initially, family members were hesitant to permit an autopsy; however, they later agreed to it. Police confirmed that further investigations and necessary proceedings are currently underway.
