Bhubaneswar, Oct 24 – A new low-pressure area has developed over the southeast Bay of Bengal, anticipated to bring light to moderate rainfall to various regions in Odisha over the next four days, concluding on October 27, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The IMD reported that this low-pressure area formed at 5:30 AM due to the influence of an upper air cyclonic circulation situated over the southeast Bay of Bengal and the adjacent south Andaman Sea.
The weather office indicated that the system is expected to move west-northwestward and intensify within the next 24 hours.
In response to the forecast, the IMD has issued a yellow warning for light to moderate rainfall across 12 districts on Friday, extending to 21 districts each on Saturday and Sunday, with rainfall expected statewide on Monday, October 27.
