Kolkata Police apprehends 132 individuals for offenses; 365 cited for traffic violations.

Kolkata Police reported the arrest of 132 individuals on Friday for various offences, including disorderly conduct and the discharge of fireworks. A police statement revealed that 122 arrests were made for disorderly conduct, while 10 individuals were apprehended for bursting prohibited fireworks on Thursday.

During the enforcement operation, authorities seized 3.7 kg of banned fireworks and 4.2 litres of illicit liquor. In a related initiative, the traffic wing of the police prosecuted 365 offenders for a range of violations. This included 75 riders and 44 pillion riders who were penalized for not wearing helmets, 71 individuals for rash driving, and 65 for driving under the influence of alcohol. Additionally, 110 others faced action for miscellaneous traffic offences.
