Man fatally stabs ex-girlfriend in Mumbai, then commits suicide by slitting his throat.

Mumbai, Oct 24 – A 24-year-old man, Sonu Barai, fatally attacked his former girlfriend, Manisha Yadav, also 24, with a knife in the Byculla area of Mumbai on Friday morning. The incident occurred around 11 am, nearly two weeks after the couple ended their relationship.

Barai, a resident of Kalachowki, suspected Yadav of seeing someone else, which led to tensions between them. On the day of the attack, he called Yadav to meet him while concealing a kitchen knife. Upon her arrival, Barai stabbed Yadav two to three times. In a desperate attempt to escape, she fled into a nearby nursing home, but Barai pursued her and continued the assault inside the facility.

Despite the presence of bystanders who attempted to intervene, Barai’s aggressive behavior and armed state made it difficult for them to stop him. During the chaos, someone threw a stone at Barai, prompting him to realize he could not evade capture. In a tragic turn of events, he slit his own throat and died at the scene due to excessive blood loss.

Yadav sustained serious injuries and was promptly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the incident.
