Pakistan withdraws from the Junior Hockey World Cup, impacting their participation in the tournament.

New Delhi, Oct 24 – Pakistan has officially withdrawn from the Junior Hockey World Cup scheduled to take place in India from November 28 to December 28, as confirmed by the International Hockey Federation (FIH) to PTI on Friday.

The FIH stated that the Pakistan Hockey Federation has informed them that its team, which had initially qualified for the FIH Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup in Tamil Nadu, will not participate in the event.

The FIH also mentioned that a replacement team for Pakistan will be announced shortly.

This decision comes amid strained sporting relations between India and Pakistan, exacerbated by the Pahalagam terror attack on April 22 and India’s subsequent military response known as Operation Sindoor.
