Prakash Ambedkar demands MCOCA action after youth’s brutal assault in Ahilyanagar.

Ahilyanagar, Oct 24 – Prakash Ambedkar, the chief of the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi (VBA), has reported a severe assault on a youth from the Matang community in Ahilyanagar district, calling for action under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against those responsible.

The victim, identified as Sanjay Vairagar, was allegedly abducted from Sonai village by a group of 15 to 20 individuals and taken to an undisclosed location where he endured brutal beatings. Ambedkar described the incident as an “extremely cruel act,” stating that the assailants ran a motorcycle over Vairagar’s hands and legs, resulting in fractures, and severely injured one of his eyes. The attackers also reportedly urinated on him before abandoning him at an unknown site.

Ambedkar further claimed that the perpetrators are allegedly connected to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). Following the assault, Vairagar was admitted to a government hospital for treatment.

In a conversation with the victim’s father, Ambedkar expressed his commitment to support the family and reiterated the demand for action against the assailants under MCOCA. He also indicated plans to meet with the victim’s family soon.

On the same day, VBA state general secretary Prof Kisan Chavan, along with district office-bearers, visited the hospital to meet with Vairagar’s family, assuring them of the party’s unwavering support.
