Telangana government offers Rs 5 lakh ex-gratia to families of Andhra bus fire victims.

Hyderabad, Oct 24 – The Telangana government has announced an ex-gratia payment of Rs five lakh to the families of individuals from the state who lost their lives in a tragic bus fire accident in Kurnool district, Andhra Pradesh.

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has directed that those injured in the incident will receive financial assistance of Rs two lakh, as confirmed by state Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar.

In addition to the financial aid, the government is committed to ensuring that the injured receive advanced medical care, as stated by Prabhakar in a post on X.

The accident occurred when a private bus, traveling from Hyderabad to Bengaluru, caught fire after colliding with a two-wheeler in Kurnool district on Friday. The devastating incident resulted in the deaths of 20 individuals, many of whom were charred beyond recognition.
