Ballia (UP), Oct 24 – A police station in-charge sustained critical injuries after being run over by a tractor-trolley during a Lakshmi idol immersion in Ballia district, according to police reports on Friday.
The incident occurred around 10 PM on Thursday in Nagara, during an idol immersion procession. Ajay Kumar Tripathi, the Nagara police station in-charge, was on duty to ensure the event proceeded smoothly when a tractor-trolley loaded with DJ equipment reportedly rolled backward down a slope, crushing him beneath it.
Following the accident, Tripathi was immediately transported to a local hospital due to the severity of his injuries. He was subsequently referred to the district hospital and later transferred to Lucknow for advanced medical treatment, as confirmed by Rasra Circle Officer Alok Gupta.
