22nd April, 2025, New Delhi: Masters’ Union, a pioneering institution based in Gurgaon, has made headlines by having five student-founded startups featured on the popular reality show, Shark Tank India, this season. This achievement highlights the institution’s dedication to nurturing entrepreneurship through its innovative, hands-on educational model.
Among the standout startups, Project Clay—a mentorship platform designed to connect high school students with young professionals—secured an investment of INR 15 lakh for a 10% equity stake from investor Namita Thapar. This funding is a testament to the platform’s potential to transform career guidance for students.
Another notable venture, HiveSchool, which focuses on sales training, received strategic advice from Aman Gupta to transition their program to an offline model. In a remarkable display of agility, HiveSchool launched India’s first dedicated offline business school for sales education even before their episode aired, showcasing their commitment to meeting industry demands swiftly.
The five startups from Masters’ Union featured on Shark Tank India span a variety of industries, illustrating the community’s diverse innovation landscape:
– **Bullspree**: A stock market gaming app that gamifies investing to make it more accessible and engaging.
– **HiveSchool**: A sales training school that equips students with practical skills and industry exposure.
– **MemoTag**: A healthtech solution offering real-time insights and alerts for dementia patients.
– **Nexera Health**: A tech-driven platform providing comprehensive healthcare solutions for corporates in India and Southeast Asia.
– **Project Clay**: A mentorship platform connecting high school students with professionals for real-world career guidance.
Three of these startups were founded by graduates of Masters’ Union, while Project Clay and Nexera Health are integral parts of the institution’s startup community. Over the past five years, Masters’ Union has successfully incubated numerous startups, many of which have scaled their operations significantly. This success is attributed to a robust entrepreneurial culture supported by top-notch infrastructure, including AI labs in collaboration with PwC, startup incubation hubs, mentorship from industry leaders, and investments in cutting-edge resources to empower students in building their ventures.
What distinguishes Masters’ Union is its hands-on learning approach. Instead of traditional examinations, students are evaluated based on tangible business outcomes—such as launching an e-commerce business, starting a YouTube channel, developing a blockchain protocol, running a cloud kitchen, or creating a hardware product. Assessments focus on key business metrics like ROI, profitability, and Net Promoter Score (NPS), ensuring graduates emerge with practical, industry-ready skills.
Pratham Mittal, the founder of Masters’ Union, expressed pride in the achievement, stating, “Seeing five startups from our community pitch on Shark Tank India is a proud moment. It reaffirms our belief that when education is deeply connected to industry, innovation naturally follows. At Masters’ Union, we don’t just prepare students for jobs—we prepare them to lead and build. Our programs are designed to instill an entrepreneurial mindset, giving students the confidence and capability to start their own ventures, whether immediately or later in their careers. Last year alone, around 26 startups were launched by our graduates, and we aim to see this number grow. By challenging students with real-world business problems, we ensure they develop the resilience, problem-solving skills, and execution mindset needed to succeed in any business environment.”
Masters’ Union is a premium tech and business school located in Gurgaon’s corporate district. Founded in 2020, it emphasizes hands-on learning where students learn by doing. The leadership team comprises graduates from prestigious institutions such as Stanford, Wharton, IITs, and IIMs. Unlike traditional colleges, the faculty includes MDs, CXOs, and AI experts from leading companies like Amazon, Apple, IBM, McKinsey, PwC, and KPMG, as well as educators from top-ranked universities such as Oxford and Harvard.
