Nandamuri Balakrishna’s ‘Akhanda 2: Thaandavam’ set to release on December 5.

Mumbai, Oct 2 – Telugu superstar Nandamuri Balakrishna is set to make his much-anticipated return to the silver screen with the film “Akhanda 2: Thaandavam,” scheduled for release in theaters nationwide on December 5, as announced by the filmmakers on Thursday.

This upcoming film marks Balakrishna’s fourth collaboration with renowned director Boyapati Sreenu, following their successful partnerships on blockbuster films such as “Simha” (2010), “Legend” (2014), and “Akhanda” (2021).

In the first installment, Balakrishna portrayed dual roles: Murali Krishna, a principled farmer battling factionalism and illegal uranium mining in Anantapur, and his twin brother Akhanda, a fierce Aghora devoted to Lord Shiva, who rises as a divine force against evil. The sequel is anticipated to continue this unique blend of spirituality, action, and larger-than-life heroism, as detailed in a press release.

Produced by Raam Achanta and Gopi Achanta under the 14 Reels Plus banner and presented by M Tejaswini Nandamuri, the film’s promotional materials include a newly released poster showcasing Balakrishna in a fierce, spiritually charged avatar, brandishing a massive trident and dressed in saffron and brown robes.

“Akhanda 2: Thaandavam” also features a talented cast, including Samyuktha, Aadhi Pinisetty, and Harshali Malhotra in pivotal roles. The film’s music and background score are composed by S Thaman, with cinematography managed by C. Ramprasad and Santoshh D Detakae. Editing is handled by Tammiraju, while AS Prakash serves as the art director. The action sequences are choreographed by the renowned duo Ram-Lakshman.
